That Was Interesting

Its five am and I'm just getting back into my bed.

I woke up several hours ago and realized I could hear Noah kicking in
his crib. He wasn't yelling so I went back to sleep.

About 30 minutes later I woke up needing to use the potty and while up
I heard Noah still kicking and squacking a bit. So I went in to see
him. My repsonse?

"Shane! Come quick!"

Noah had puked over what seemed himself, his whole bed, up and down
the wall and he had a full diaper of diareah.

I got Noah cleaned up as best I could then have him a bath. Shane
cleaned up his bed. Poor guy was gaging. He hates vomit.

Then I played with Noah in his room and have him water in a syringe
every 10 minutes for about a half hour or so.

He's back in bed now, as am I (writing this on my phone). However, I
can now hear Lilly starting to cry.

I think I might be done sleeping for the night. Either way, it looks
like I'll have to call my boss and be a no show for todays Manager
Meeting. I can't leave a pukey Heart Transplant toddler and a
preschooler with conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) with my sweet sister. After
that she just might start screening my phone calls.

Where Have I Been?

Oh, you didn't notice I was gone? I didn't think so.

Regardless, I am alive. I just haven't wanted to get online. I have post after post saved up in my head (that will probably be forgotten before I get around to writing them) but I just haven't had it in me to grab the laptop and turn it on. Pretty pathetic eh?

Makes you wonder what my house must look like, I know.

Another Birthday Week Post #5

As I lay in bed writing this post from my phone at 130 in the morning, I can't help but thank my Heavenly Father for the man laying next to me.

When I first met Shane I labeled him 'Out of my League' even though I wanted to go out with him so badly. I decided that maybe if I played my cards right I might be able to get him to notice me (the story of how we met is coming soon). So I put the charm on pretty thick and it paid off.

While I knew within a short time that not only did I love him, but I was going to marry him, there were times I couldn't grasp the idea that he would ever want me let alone actually want to marry me. But he did!

I can honestly say that there isn't anything in this world that would stop me from loving him. There is nothing that would ever make me not want to work things out. When he asked me to marry him I said yes. Not just for this life but for the life to come. For Eternity.

It was when my life really began.

He has given me joy beyond words. He taught me about patience, and kindness, and never let's a moment pass when he could make me laugh. The little secret inside jokes of our marriage are one of my most favorite things in this world.

He gave me my babies. They are my reason for living. They are part him and I love them even more because of that.

He is my everything. My favorite person. My best friend. I trust him fully and completely.

He makes me want to be and wish I was a better person. Because I want to be everything he deserves. But this wonderful man that I love so much, never makes me feel like anything less than a queen. He honors me. He trusts me. He loves me. Sometimes he understands me better than I understand myself.

So as I lay here in bed, listening to his breathing as he falls asleep, I close my eyes and thank my Heavenly Father for once again, blessing me with so much more than I deserve. For blessing me with a love some only dream about. For leading my path to a husband way 'Out of my League' and yet who I know loves me back.

Happy Birthday Week My Love. You are my Everything!!

Another Birthday Week Post #4

Alright... it's 1:30 am and I am WAY late posting this. But I thought it might be funny to share with you something that happened on one of my first dates with Shane...

It must have been only our 2nd date and we were hanging out at my apartment. My brother had already moved out so I was living alone. Shane and I were in the kitchen making dinner or something and doing the whole flirting thing... you know what I mean, smacking, touching, hitting... whatever.

So, he tries to tickle me or something so I lightly punch him in the stomach. And guess what happens...

He farts.

Loudly.

He froze. Terror in his eyes. I can only imagine what must have been going through his head.

Since he was standing in the door way to my brothers empty bedroom, he just turned around, silently went into the bathroom, shut the door and wouldn't come out.

I was laughing SO hard I could not even stand up. I crawled to the door to tell him it was okay and he could come out but it's hard to talk when your laughing that hard.

Eventually he did come out. And everything changes after that. I guess he figured that door had been opened already so there was no use holding back... and he never held back after that.

It has nearly cost me my life on several occasions.

But, I can honestly say I never "opened that door" until after we were married. Who cares if it was only for 2 days? It's not my fault I got sick on our honeymoon! Planning a wedding is stressful!

Since I am so tired, I didn't put as much effort into writing that out as I would have liked. But hopefully it made you laugh and gave a bit more insight into the wonderful man I call my husband.

I love you even more today than I did yesterday sweetheart!

Another Birthday Week Post #3

In honor of my dear hubby's birthday, instead of doing another meme about him, tonight I think I will share something with you that he just told me.
Honey, a little feedback regarding the whole blogging about me thing. While it is very appreciated, I think you should put your talents to better use by giving me a foot rub instead. I mean, all those key strokes could really be helping my feet!
And in between his fits of laughter (he really couldn't get over the Deadly Bum Gas reference in my last post) I told him he was an ungrateful bum.

Things I Am Tired Of

I saw this over at Three Channels and thought it was such a good idea (I mean... who doesn't need a rant now and then) that I thought I would give it a go.

So, without further ado, here is a list of some things I am tired of:
  1. I am FedUp with Jaw Clenching. I keep catching myself doing it even when I am awake and relaxed. It's giving me such horrible headaches. I do even want to think how badly I do it when I'm sleeping.
  2. Toddlers who feel the need to THROW every bit of food onto the ground because they are too picky to eat ANYTHING.
  3. Preschoolers who know that the correct thing to do it use the potty but refuse to stop crapping their pants.
  4. My hubby's return to Acid Coolo status (also known as Deadly Bum Gas).
Alright, so there is one thing per household family member. Because I'm all about Sharing The Love.

Sorry

I really wanted to keep my blog PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month but I just can't do it. Every time I look at my blog I get a headache and start thinking Pepto. So it's back to color's my migraine head can handle... but PLEASE click the Click to Give badge either off to the right or up in my link bar.

THANKS!!

Oh... also, I changed my signature to be my twitter name... but it's still me.

Another Birthday Week Post

In honor of Shane's Birthday Week, here is another random meme about the man I love:

  1. He is bald. Not like spare tire bald. More like I shave my head and I'm hotter than Vin Diesel bald. I LOVE IT!! I tell him that the only reason he has no hair is because before I was born I asked Heavenly Father for a husband with no hair. So Shane has me to blame. But seriously, it's HOT!!
  2. Shane is very smart. When he wants to learn new things about exercise or his hobby he gets online and researches, reads books, etc. And he learns a lot. This past summer he pretty much taught himself more than what a personal trainer could have done for him. He was in AWESOME shape. Which is a good thing because he had to have emergency surgery to remove a bowel obstruction and being in such great shape helped him heal fast.
  3. Shane used to box. That's actually where the Dr's think his bowel obstruction came from. Being punched in the stomach one too many times.
  4. He's a rare man. His favorite thing in the world is to play with his kids. I don't mean sit on the couch and watch TV with them, I mean crawl around on the floor, sit in their rooms and play princesses, go outside and dig in the dirt. But the cutest thing I have ever seen... He will wrap a towel around his waist so he looks like a merman and Lilly will wear her mermaid costume and they act out the movie together.
  5. Did I mention that I fall in love with this man over and over again every single day?
  6. He is a great cook. He is actually the breakfast cooker in our house. I don't do breakfast. I hate the smell of eggs and I always just do cold cereal... but with kids a hot meal is best. And Shane fills that need. He does a great job. He doesn't mind when Lilly wants to get up and help. He even asks her to come help him make cheesy eggs. She looks forward to it every day.
  7. He helps clean and keep the house in order. AND he works in the yard and does all the manly stuff.
  8. He even helps with the laundry.
  9. He is a wonderful artist and can draw from site. He drew me a picture while we were dating and I still have it framed.
  10. He HATEs vomit. And I don't mean just hate. We all hate vomit. But he REALLY hates it. Just say the word and he gags. But when I was really sick the year after we got married (that's a post in and of itself) I was vomiting a lot and then was too weak to get out of bed. I would hear him in the bathroom gaging as he cleaned out the trash can. He loves me enough to clean up vomit.
  11. And one extra one for good measure..... he can kill with his farts. Seriously.... this man has talent.

Some Hubby Blog Time

This is start of the "Birthday Week" for Shane. So, to start if off right... here is a Hubby Meme I found over at JujuBoo's.

1. He's sitting in front of the TV: what is on the screen?
Shane likes to watch anything Army (Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun, etc), The UFC, and his favorite TC shows are Fringe, Criminal Minds, and he's been enjoying The Mentalist also.

2. You're out to eat. What kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Ranch. Sometimes on the side but always Ranch.

3. What is one food he doesn't like?
Shane does NOT eat Chinese food. It once made him sick so he refuses to eat it now. He does, however, agree to Japanese every once in a while.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order?
We don't do bars or drink. So they only thing he would be ordering anywhere is a Coke.

5. Where did he go to high school?
At the H.S. in his small town of Blackfoot, Idaho.

6. What size shoe does he wear?
11

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Oh, he does collect things. Don't you worry about that. He has a G.I. Joe Collection that would put ANYONE's to shame. He also collects the 1/18th scale army tanks, planes, helicopters, etc. AND he makes dioramas to go with them so he collects those too.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Peanut Butter and Jelly toast. (crunchy peanut butter and raspberry jam)

9. What would the Husband eat every day if he could?
Eggs. And he does. And it makes me sick. I hate the smell of eggs. BUT he does make enough for everyone, including the kids. So I really can't complain.

10. What is his favorite cereal?
Oh... He doesn't eat cereal very often. But I think it's Frosted Flakes.

11. What would he never wear?
At one point in time he said he would never wear a vest... but now he does. Looks SMOKIN hot in it too. But I would say he would never wear a dress.

12. What is his favorite sports team?
He's a Dallas Cowboys fan. BUT he's jumped on my band wagon and become a Denver Bronco's fan now too.

13. Who will he vote for?
For the candidate who more closely matches his ideas.

14. Who is his best friend?
Well, it had better be me. LOL Growing up it was Roy.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do?
Spend Money. But that is just one thing on a list of many I am sure.

16. How many states has he lived in?
Three.

17. What is his heritage?
Oh good grief, I haven't the foggiest idea.

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind?
Chocolate with Camo frosting. I did this for him on his birthday we spent together... he actually got emotional.... He was putty in my hands. LOL

19. Did he play sports in high school?
He wanted to pay Basketball so badly. And he should have made the team. He's really good. But in his small town HS it was all about who you know.

20. What could he spend hours doing?
Listening to music, arranging his collection, building a new diorama, watching movies, and playing with his kids.

Happy Birthday Week my Love!

The Beginning of a Discussion

I'm sure we all have things that we notice about ourselves that we want to change. Learning and growing just seem to be part of our nature (well, at least for some people).

Anyways, I'm constantly paying attention to my actions and reviewing situations to see how I acted, what I did or did not do, what I said to try and learn and do things better next time.

Well, doing this has brought a part of my personality into review. I thought it was a fairly new thing but after discussing it with my longtime and dearest friend Em, I now know it's something I have always done. This troubled me a little. But I guess it doesn't really change anything.

I'm not quite ready to discuss it here yet. I want to think about it and decide exactly where my thoughts on this are.

But I want to say, if there is something that I do or don't do etc. that is annoying or irritating, please understand that I am a work in progress. I recognize some if not most of my faults and I'm continuing to do what I can to improve. Please be patient with me. It all comes from honest, sincere, and innocent intentions. I'm just not as good at somethings as I wish I was.

That's all for now. I will elaborate later. But I need time to think first.

Over Heard

Lilly is teasing Shane right now. He tells her, "You sure are becoming precocious."
Her reply?

"I'm NOT precocious. NO! I'm NOT precocious. I'm Silly Lilly!"

Mind you, she is three.

Thursday Thirteen

Wow... it's been a long time since I've done one of these. But they are SO fun so I think it's time to jump back on the band wagon. This week I'll share with you 13 Random Things...

  1. Today, while driving in the car, Noah was calling for his Daddy. Lilly replied: "I'm NOT Daddy. I'm Lilly! Lilly is the pretty girl!"
  2. My feet feel SO dry! And I even put lotion on them after I showered this morning.
  3. I need to get someone hired and no one hireable has applied! It's very frustrating.
  4. I'm looking forward to a break from the heat. I love cool breezes and keeping the windows open but I HATE, let me repeat, I HATE winter.
  5. Lilly was put back on a daily antibiotic for her renal reflux. Next step is an ultrasound to check for Kidney damage. Chances are she will probably need surgery in the next 6 months or so.
  6. Noah's new thing that he loves is to play Peek-a-Boo. He plays it at nap time and bed time. When I lay him down we play for about 5 minutes as he pulls his blanket over his head. All all other times of the day he will cover his eyes and then try to say BOO. But then gives up and just laughs and laughs when I "see him."
  7. I've been doing MUCH better making dinners every night and not making Shane fend for himself. Over the weekend we even sat at the table for every single meal and ate as a family. For one teeny tiny moment I actually felt domestic.
  8. Over the last few days I have seen SO MANY cute Halloween crafts on other blogs. I SO wish I had the time, money, and talent to do even half of the cute things I have seen.
  9. Speaking of Halloween, I actually got my 7 Halloween decorations put up this year. It's embarrassing to say this, but I was quite proud of myself. Having kids makes Holidays much more important I've decided.
  10. Next week Lilly has her first Pre-School field trip. We are going to a Garden Center that I used to work at. Since I'm helping the car pool, I'll be going too. I sure hope I don't see anyone I know. The last few years have NOT been kind to me and it shows.
  11. Why is it when I want my hair super short it grows like a weed and needs to be trimmed every 3-4 weeks but when I want to grow it out (even a little bit) it doesn't seem to grow at all?
  12. I've had a kidney infection this past week. I had to get a shot in my butt and do 10 days of antibiotics. Problem is, my kidneys still hurt. Lilly's Doctor said that since she has it then it's more than probable that I had it or have it too. With my history of UTI's that doesn't surprise me. Second problem? The hospital currently has ONE doctor in clinic and I can't get in to see him until January 22nd.
  13. I recently celebrated my 6th anniversary and since I've had a hard time blogging lately I was lame and didn't do an anniversary post. But rest assured, I'm more than Happily Married and Shane is more than just the love of my life, he is the love of my Eternity. I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART!

FINALLY

Leno had a NON-liberal on his show tonight. Dennis Miller made me laugh... It was a nice change. I'm all for everyone having their own views and opinions but I get so sick of watching the so called "non-biased" national news broadcasts.

Non-biased my.... oh whatever.

I'm a Twittering Fool

As you can see in my side bar, I Twitter quite a bit. I don't know why. It's just fun.

I have found many new blogs a wonderful people through Twitter. My latest find is TwitterMoms.

What a fun place!! You should totally check it out.

Another fun thing is GNO (aka Girls Night Out) using Twitter. A bunch of us hunker down for the night and chat on Twitter. We have a topic but there are many random side convo's also. It's fun to just follow along or to participate. You can learn more about it at Mommy Gossip and Good and Crazy People. So far, I have GNO Twittered twice and it's been tons of fun.

If you follow my twitters, you probably have seen my #GNO posts. Sorry for the tons of updates. Hopefully it just makes you want to join us next time. LOL

In Honor of October Breast Cancer Awareness. . .

I've Gone PINK!

Noah Sleeping Pre-Heart Transplant

Here is the cutest picture ever of Noah sleeping... pre-transplant of course.

I'm entering this photo into the 5 Minutes for Mom Photo Contest. How awesome would it be to win Noah a new bedroom set (the Summer Breeze one)? He is in desperate need!!

I Don't Get It

The last week or so my sweet precious little Lilly has gone missing. In her place has been a child of such temperament to drive me crazy. She talks back, she doesn't follow directions, she yells. She even tells me she isn't being naughty.

I thought going to school would help her follow directions more and give her a sense of structure. All it seems to have done is teach her bad habits. I would be nervous about her teacher but I am very comfortable with her teacher and I know she has been acting out at school too. She isn't even following along in her dance class as much.

I am at a total loss.

I'm getting tired of threatening and "counting to 3". If she doesn't start behaving she is going straight to time out. But what really concerns me is why she is acting out in the first place. She isn't sleeping through the night anymore either. She wakes up crying. Last night she kept telling Shane and I that she wasn't happy. She was sad. Why? Because we wouldn't give her the flag she keeps in her room. So we let her keep it on the pillow next to her. She woke up in the middle of the night crying because she couldn't find her flag.

Is this normal? Is it just a stage or a sign of something deeper? I've never been the mother to a 3 year old before. And as you probably already know, they DON'T come with owners manuals (much to my dismay).

So any advice or insight you might have I would greatly appreciate it. I just want my sweet precious princess back. I miss her.
