My Voice

Today I went and cast my vote.

In general I have a rule about posts regarding certain subjects. My
political views being one of them. But tonight its more than just
politics. Its about my integrity.

Neither of the Presidential Candidates earned my vote. Why should I
vote for someone who I don't want to be president? Just because they
are on the ballot? That doesn't make sense to me. That's not what
voting is about. Voting is about letting your voice be heard. The key
phrase there is My Voice. Not the voice you chose for me to have. I'm
not going to vote for someone to become the leader of my country just
because I want the other option even less. I want MY voice to be heard
and counted even If its not what you want to hear.

Tonight I go to bed with a peace that only a clear conscious can give.
I let my voice be heard. I voted for who I wanted to be president.
Some might call it a wasted vote. But it was MY vote.

And I'm okay with that.
