Ask Me Anything.... For My 200th Post

1. I want to hear the ex story that resulted in a restraining order.
Alright, start out with a real FUN one why don’t you? So, it didn’t result in a restraining order. It ALMOST did. I was dating this guy (who will remain nameless) and he just became a little too possessive. I told him I was no long interested in him in every way possible. i.e. We need to take a break. I don’t want to see you anymore. I am breaking up with you. I even told him “Do not call me anymore!!” And his response? “So, by that you mean how long? Like, until next week?” I thought he had finally gotten the clue when I hadn’t heard from him in a week. But then he shows up at my work. He came in acting like nothing had changed. He wanted to take me for a drive on my break to show me his new truck. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I went out to the parking lot with him and as he’s showing me his truck (he switched from a small racing type car to a pickup truck) he tells me… “Isn’t this great? Now you won’t get car sick anymore since the truck sits up higher!!” I didn’t want to make him mad (because at this point I realized he wasn’t thinking clearly) so I told him I had to get back to work. Later that day I called him and explained to him I never wanted to see him again. That I had been trying to tell him that for some time and that if he ever called or came to my house or my work again I would be forced to call the police. He got so upset. Know what he said? “But I just bought a truck so you won’t get car sick!! Doesn’t that mean anything to you?!” “Uhm…. No.”

2. What will you name your next child? (That I KNOW you'll have!) LOL
Of course I will have more. The question is just How many and when?? But my next is a girl and her name is Grace Elizabeth (Graciebeth). (Trust me, I just know!)

3. What will be your job in Heaven?
That’s a good one. Since I have to guess because, no, I don’t know. I would have to say Missionary.

4. What was your first thought upon hearing that Noah would need a heart transplant?
This is a hard one. You see, the Lord had been preparing me for it. And in my heart, I knew this was what he would need to be okay. So when Dr. Everett told Shane and I our choices were do nothing or get a transplant, I was prepared and ready and in a way relieved because I knew it was a better choice over valve replacement. But still, to hear your baby is so sick and so close to dying and to know for your baby to live someone else’s has to die… it’s so much more than my own heart could bear alone. So in a way there were no thoughts going through my head. There was only raw emotion in my heart. And the only reason I was strong enough to bear it was because the Lord was holding my hand.

5. What was your first thought upon hearing that a heart was available for him?
If you read this post then you know how I felt about waiting for the call. It was such a mind game. I had just left the hospital and had gotten back to the Ronald McDonald House. I was sitting against the door in our room pumping and my phone rang. All the thoughts came through my head. Then Alison says, “We may have a possible donor for Noah.” And time stood still. I actually asked her if she was serious. We talked about when I should be to the hospital and when we hung up I looked at Jen just speechless. I couldn’t think, I couldn’t talk. She asked me if he got a heart and I nodded and started to cry. She came over and hugged me. It was then that I began thinking again. All I could think was “My baby got a heart! He’s going to live!”

6. Who is your best friend (Shane, you don't count) and why?
I am editing this question because if I am not counting Shane, I don’t just have one best friend. I have a few. Emily; She isn’t just a friend. She is a sister. She even comes to family dinner at my parent’s house every Sunday. Because she has always been there for me since the day we met. She is my partner in crime and even though we are completely different we are completely the same and I love her! Jen; She is such a sweetie and is always thinking of other people. (Even when she needs to be regulated *wink*) We have tons of fun together and have the same philosophy on things. And she is always there for me when I need her. Leeann; Because this woman is my long lost twin. (She’s Arnold and I’m Danny… yes, I know I got the short end of that stick!) I never feel stupid for bugging her 24/7, she inspires me to be a better person and I love that we can and do talk about anything and everything. Nancy; Because she is sensitive to the things I am going through and SO incredibly sweet and makes sure that I don't go through any of it alone.
And what do all four have in common? They all make me LMAO!! (See… that’s where it went!)

7. What word makes you giggle when you say it?
Wicked!

8. Who do you text message the most? What's the last thing they had to say?
This is a toss up between Jen and Leeann. But since my phone erased all my messages again, all I have is one from Jen this morning. And the last one said “Gotcha. I’ll find out asap.”

9. Share a funny drunk story. (C'mon we all have them from days gone by.)
Oh man… so the problem with this question… my drunk stories are only funny when you are drunk!! But here is the only one I can think of: Emily and I were in Mexico and it was probably about 2 or 3 in the morning. After drinking and dancing ALL night I was super tired. And since I am such a friendly drunk, I decided to make nice with a tree. (Mainly because I needed help standing up) But everyone who came by kept asking my why I was hugging a tree. I had to explain that it was fun hugging trees. So then they wanted to try and once they did they understood. Then I had to beg for my tree back. I think I hugged my tree for about an hour. So yes, I was a tree hugger. I am THAT friendly when I am drunk. (Another funny thing is when I drink, I dance with one arm in the air… but it’s because I have to have something to rest my heavy head on! I have pictures!)

10. If you had to get a tattoo...what would you get and where would you put it?
If I HAD to get one (because I never would) I would get a heart (for obvious reason) and I would put it on the top of my right foot below the 2nd and 3rd toes.

11. What are 3 things you cannot live without?
Shane, Lilly, and Noah.

12. Is there anything you would never tolerate in a relationship?
Child Abuse.

13. What is your favorite date you've ever been on with Shane?
My favorite would have to be my recent birthday. But the most memorable would be when he tried to plan my birthday trip several years ago before Lilly was born. We went to Boise to see A Perfect Circle. He reserved the Hotel Room and made all the arrangements. Well, we drive there (which took forever) and the hotel was more like a roach motel covered in mold and smelling like smoke. It was so late we forced ourselves to stay one night and were gone first thing in the morning to a new really nice place down town. Then we went to the concert and found out it had been canceled. So we went to a movie which turned out to be the worst movie we had ever seen… needless to say it was very memorable.

14. What was your graduating high school GPA?
3.6 And I graduated early.

15. You were just given 48 hours with no kids...whatcha gonna do?
Go to the spa, go out to eat, go to the movies, sleep in, repeat.

16. Who were your role models growing up and why?
I have always looked up to my parents. They are such strong people and have faced such huge obstacles but always overcome. I also always looked up to my Grandma Brown. Because she had a talent that made you feel like you were the most important person in the world every time she talked to you.

17. If you could change your first name, what would you change it to?
I wouldn’t want to.

18. What is your greatest achievement?
Getting married in the Temple and becoming an Eternal Family.

19. What is your greatest regret?
That I didn’t visit my Grandpa more before he died.

20. What is your most embarrassing moment besides the breathing under Shane's door incident?
I don’t know. That was really embarrassing. Since I have gotten older I try really hard not to be embarrassed by things. I figure if I can laugh at myself then it’s not so bad if others do too… it also doesn’t hurt that I have Momnesia and I now forget almost everything shortly after it happens.

21. What is your most frightening moment?
After Noah’s Transplant when he had the Blood Transfusion reaction. His whole body was covered in hives and he was swollen and he couldn’t breath. And he was having heart rhythm issues. It was horrible. After everything we had gone through and we almost lost him again.

22. Has anyone pulled a really good practical prank on you? If so, what happened?
Not that I can think of. I REALLY don’t like practical jokes or pranks (so don’t get any ideas Jen!). The only thing I can think of is in High School Joe and Danny told me it was illegal to coast with your foot off the gas when you were driving and I believed them for years!

23. What is your favorite birthday present of all time (barring the SWEET camera I gave you ;)?
That camera was SUPER sweet. But my favorite present I actually got on Christmas (which counts as a birthday present since it is my actual birthday!) It was from Shane on our very first Christmas together. I had always always always wanted a nice snow globe of Salt Lake City. I just happen to mention it in passing and he remembered and got me one. It’s one of my favorite things.

24. Are you for or against capital punishment?
For. Alma 34: 11-12; Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another. Now, if a man murdereth, behold will our law, which is just, take the life of his brother? I say unto you, Nay. But the law requireth the life of him who hath murdered; therefore there can be nothing which is short of an infinite atonement which will suffice for the sins of the world.

25. How honest are you with your thoughts and feelings around others? Do you hide your true self when with certain people?
There was a time when I wasn’t confident enough with who I was to be completely honest about my feelings or be who I really was with everyone. But now, as I have gotten older, I believe it’s perfectly okay to be who you are and be different. You don’t have to be just like everyone else. That being said, there are people who bring out different parts of my personality. That doesn’t mean that I am hiding my true self when I am with certain people, it just means I am who I am when I am with them.

26. Do you ever lie in order to avoid hurting feelings?
I believe it’s very important to be trustworthy and have integrity. I never want to hurt someone’s feelings but what good is my opinion or advice if my friends or family think it might be tainted by a lie in order to save their feelings? So no, I don’t. But I do believe there are ways to tell the truth that are less hurtful or more tactful. And when all else fails, if I don’t have something nice to say, I try not to say anything at all… but that doesn’t always happen… as you probably know. But we can all have goals.

27. Name some things you would never ever do.
Knowingly use counterfeit money, Smuggle Drugs, Rob a bank, Drive by Shooting.

28. Do you tend to argue with people or avoid conflict?
Unfortunately I tend to argue. (Wouldn’t you if you were always right too?) But, there are times and topics where I do try to avoid conflict.

29. Do you care what others think of you?
Yes and No. Of course I want others to think highly of me. I want to have friends and be loved. But do I care if some random person thinks I’m a dork or ugly? Not really.

30. What makes you laugh?
I have a pretty lame sense of humor so TONS of things make me laugh. For instance, I made myself laugh so hard last night over “Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, Crabs of Love, etc” Then Shane made me laugh harder by saying that “Crabs of Love” was on the Food Channel.

31. Name some of your pet peeves.
I HATE when people go into a retail environment and are rude to the sales/customer service staff. Even if they are in the wrong or completely not helpful. DO NOT BE RUDE. Have we completely forgotten what it means to treat others with respect? I also don’t like watching people eat on TV or the movies. The sound the food makes in their mouths and seeing the saliva etc is just gross.

32. What is a routine day for you? How do you feel if this routine is interrupted?
A routine day for me has no routine. The only things that are on a schedule are Noah’s meds (and therefore his feedings). Meds are at 8am (breakfast) Lunch at noon, Meds at 4pm (dinner), Meds at 8pm (Dinner bottle) and bedtime. Lilly’s schedule follows for the most part. Other than that we have Doctor appointments, friend visits, family visits, errands, cleaning, working, naps, poopy diapers, snacks, and baths. Did I forget something? Probably. How do I feel when his meds get interrupted and not given on scheduled? REALLY REALLY PISSEY!! They HAVE to be given on time!!

33. Name 5 things you think yourself to be really good at.
1. I read really fast. 2. I’m really good at fast forwarding the TIVO through commercials and pushing play right when the show is back on. 3. I can take my foot off the brake right when the light turns green. 4. I make really good cheesy garlic bread. 5. I’m good at dosing meds.

34. What 5 things do you think you aren't so good at?
1. Losing weight. 2. Cooking. 3. Cleaning. 4. Doing Laundry. 5. Saving Money.

35. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
As an Organ Donor, so I could die saving someone’s life. (The really funny thing about this answer? It’s been my answer since I was about 10 years old.)

36. If you were given 3 days to live, what would you do with those 3 days?
Spend it with my children. And write them letters and make videos and take pictures.

37. What things shock/offend you?
The F word and Porn.

38. What is your most embarrassing moment?
“Babe, are you breathing under the door?”

39. What is your favorite memory of elementary, middle, and high school?
Elementary: Coming up with the idea to do the recycle project and then going class to class to get the bags of cans.
Middle: Reciting Romeo and Juliet with my Best Friend Jill
High School: Getting caught on the roof of the new school. Oops!

40. What is your dream job?
Other than Stay At Home Mom? Maybe a singer or a writer.

41. How many kids do you want?
4-6. I haven’t decided how many times my body can handle being pregnant.

42. What are your highest aspirations?
To have all my children with me and Shane in the Celestial Kingdom.

43. What and why is the most pivotal moment in your life?
This is a tough one. I have had many spiritual moments and personal revelations that have been huge in my life. But the most pivotal moment in my life?... Being sealed in the temple and becoming an Eternal Family. Nothing in this world would matter if I didn’t know that my family would be my family for ever and ever.

Thank you to all my wonderful friends who gave me questions to answer so I didn't feel like a total nerd. Maybe you learned something new about me, maybe you didn't. Hopefully at least something gave you a good laugh.
