Time Travel Tuesday

It's still 11:30 pm so I still have time.

Today we are suppose to talk about a birth story. Since I just had Noah, I will tell you his.

I was having problems with Preeclampsia and went in Monday morning for the usual round of tests. The non-stress test was a little concerning because Noah's heart was non reactive. I had noticed his heart rate was much higher than it should have been at previous tests but no one seemed to be too concerned. But now, they decided I needed to have another ultra sound. That looked fine but after talking with Dr. Sharp (The BEST OB/GYN in the entire world) we decided we should go ahead and induce me since I was already 37 weeks and with the risks it would be our best option.
I went home and had a very yummy lunch with Shane at Fazoli's and then went straight back to the hospital.
I was already dilated to a 3 so they started the Pitocin and got things moving. Shane came up after my sister came over to watch Lilly. Things were going fine for a short while. But then it seemed Noah was in distress.
His heart rate was dropping very low and before I knew it, the room was full of people and Dr. Sharp was doing everything he could to get Noah turned around since he was facing the wrong way. I was only dilated to an 8 when Dr. Sharp said I needed to push and get this baby out now or it would be an emergency c-section. Noah was in trouble.

I pushed and pushed but Noah wasn't coming down since he was facing the wrong direction. Dr. Sharp was finally able to get him to turn by having me lay on my side and push that way. Then he removed the cord from Noah's neck and out he came. Everyone was surprised I was able to push him out so quickly. But I was determined. My baby was in trouble!!

I got to hold him for about 5 minutes before they took him away for a checkup since he was having such a hard time breathing. It was a short time later we learned how sick my little man was. You can read that whole store at my other blog Noah's Adventure.

Thanks to Annie for hosting.
